![]() ![]() I love it and have played none of my other keyboards since I bought the Genos is early November. I’m completely new to Yamaha arrangers so was not sure what to expect but the demos had won me over. I'm absolutely pleased with Genos and nope, I don't want my T3 back. Everyone is entitled to have a different view based on his needs. There are additional pros and cons, the advantages above relate to my personal needs. Having said this I want to stress that none of these flaws are really a show stopper for me. So far it looks that we can expect this to happen. ![]() That means improvements and new features implemented in new firmware versions. I think we arranger users deserve the same kind of support that the synth departement offers. ![]() it's black, never liked the silver finish.įor sure there are some flaws and missing features and it's important to communicate these to Yamaha. + Expansion memory built-in, increased by factor 1.8, no need to load voices at boot timeĪnd finally. + I could live with 8 reg buttons, 10 are better.įor me there are additional benefits, as I upgraded from a Tyros 3: This contrasts to the music finder of the Tyros, which I never used. + The playlist is now the center of navigation for accessing my repertoire. While there is room for improvement it's a good start. I use the controls not only for live performance but for easy editing of parameters. + Live controls (sliders, knbs) are a big plus. + Assignable buttons allows me to taylor the interface to my needs. I don't miss a multi-touch screen, for changing more than one parameter at a time I prefer sthe sliders. + The touch screen makes live easier and faster. Those that I worked with until now just sound better. + Styles profit from DSP power, new Megavoices, and have been reworked in some detail. A lot of S.Art2 voices may be controlled with an additional third button. There are new high quality voices while legacy voices are still there. There is a massive effect power (28 DSP), effect settings can be stored in a registration. Expectations vary, but my very personal view of the benefits is: After using Genos for some weeks now I'm very happy with Genos.
